Do I believe in love?

Of course, I do but only in real life... 

love in Second Life seems more like a fantasy to me.

I am amazed at how everywhere I go in SL many people are always looking either 

for love or to have intimate relationships. It is so frustrating how I get asked 

at least once every day if I am interested in having sex. They gotta be kidding me!!! 

Having meaningless sex with someone I don't know is not the reason I am 

in Second Life. For me sex is not just the act... its the emotion... 

the love and respect between two people.

When it comes to love in Second Life, I find it comical how some people 

actually believe they have fallen in love after the second day 

or even a week after they met the person. Love requires more than a few hours

or days for it to bloom. Do I believe in love at first sight? NOPE!!! :P 

I DO believe in attraction at first sight, though. But mere attraction doesn't equal love.

In order to find genuine love in Second Life 

you must have to get to know the person, and by this, I mean the REAL person

behind the Avi. But then again how can you be 100% certain that the person 

you are falling in love with is really who they claim to be. 

For all you know you might be declaring your undying love to an 80-year-old 

thinking it's a 21-year-old.  Another scary scenario might be even declaring your 

undying love to someone of your same-sex thinking you have found the ideal love, 

of course, this only applies to you if you are 100% straight.

Some people log in every day in search of something that they might be lacking 

in real life. Notice how I said some people, not everyone :P 

They are trying to fill the void in their life with a fantasy fulfillment. 

Many times they are trying to find the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend in a fantasy world. 

Second Life is a fantasy world where everything goes, as one of my friends said. 

Still, there are those of us who choose to live our Second Life almost in the same way 

as our real lives. We set boundaries, rules, and limitations. We don't fall into the

everything goes... and it's OK style. Self-respect and respect for others shouldn't 

come to a halt once we log in. We choose to live our SL in a positive and prosperous

way and our search is for the beauty of this Second Life world and the many 

talents most residents have. Many residents actually come to Second Life 

to conduct real-life businesses. We learn from each other and help each other 

and in the process, we create beautiful friendships.

I do understand though that Second Life was created to be lived however you choose to, 

it is our right. We can live it as crazy or as sane as we choose to. It is just a little,

ok a lot upsetting to me that a lot of people right away assume that we are all here

 for the same reason they are, either to find love or just to have meaningless sex. For some

of us SL gives us the opportunity to be creative, and that's the only reason I am here for. <3

This is what my dear friend Virtualandy Capra had to say after I told him 

that my way of writing though it was very simple it came from the heart.

Andy is an absolutely amazing friend always ready to lift me up when I am feeling down

with his beautiful encouraging words that carry wonderful magic 

that will brighten my most cloudy days.

What I love so much about him is that he always sees the good and beauty 

in every person and won't dwell on people's imperfections. 

He speaks in the most beautiful manner about life... 

people and experiences. His words always carry so much passion 

as if they were a song of love. Spending time with my friend Andy has to be 

one of my favorite things in Second Life. We love exploring nature, 

dancing under the rain, taking our shoes off, 

resting on green pastures without a need to say a word.

Andy, thank you for your amazing friendship and for always showing 

so much interest in everything I do. For always having an encouraging word 

when I need it and an open heart when I need my friend. For always making 

time for me though you always have a busy schedule. But especially for willing to join my

"FOOLS" club <333

Tea Time

What better way than to spend the day with my good friend Poppy Ghostraven. 

I hadn't seen her for a while so we had a lot of catching up to do. 

I absolutely adore my friend, she has to be one of my dearest and best friends 

in Second Life and I always enjoy my time with her. She invited me to come 

over to her home to show me the amazing progress she has done to her land. 

Every time I visit her I am amazed by such creativity.

After she finished showing me all the wonderful changes and additions she's 

done to her property, she took me to one of her favorite places in Second Life, 

Creative Fantasy Home & Garden. 

This place is filled with wonderful items for your garden, 

from trees and plants to the Roman, Greek, and Gorean  to fountains, 

baths, pools, and even pre-fab homes to houses.

While we were walking through the green grassy pathways we came upon a beautiful 

patio table set up and ready for a tea party. Soon after we sat and started enjoying

a sweet cup of hot tea, we were joined by two very unusual guests... Mr. Blue Dragon 

and Mrs. Purple dragon.

Mr. Blue dragon was such a character. He sat there and while he drank his cup 

of hot tea he couldn't stop smiling as if he was up to no good. I'll have to say 

something, though I totally fell in love with the flirty beast. That devilish glance 

of his stole my heart away at first sight. I wished I had a home to bring him 

back with me.

Now, Mrs. Purple Dragon was a perfect lady. Well-mannered and very polite.

She never spoke a word or made a sound but still, she was well behaved 

in her own quiet way ;)

My friends know by now that most of the time even though I am logged into 

Second Life doesn't necessarily mean that I am IN Second Life at the time. 

I usually Log in but spent most of the time AFK or busy writing somewhere else. 

They usually leave me IMs knowing that as soon as I see them, I'll get back to them.

Sometimes it'll be hours before I get back. Once I step away from my computer 

and go about my business, I'll forget that I am still logged in... 

but they already know this.

The time that I actually DO spend in SL, I am probably 80%  of it alone. 

I use this time to explore, dance, or practice Tai Chi.

That is why I am always very grateful for the time spent with a good friend.

Just A Fool

Have you ever said or acted in such a bizarre way with someone, 

that after it's too late to go back, you just want to die? 

You think to yourself, "Oh Lord, what did I just do!",

 but by the time you realize this the other person 

is already halfway on the other side 

of the planet running for their life 

and you are left behind feeling like poop.

GUILTY HERE!!!

Yes, unfortunately, I am guilty of this shameful crime. 

I've done it maybe once or twice during my whole life. 

Who am I kidding...I have done it many times :(   

My problem is that sometimes I act on impulse 

and will easily fall into conclusions. 

Hey, but it's because I am a very passionate woman... 

Oh yes, that is not a good excuse. 

What I am is a total 100% fool :(((

What this poor fool need is a little love and tons of understanding and patience.

And in my defense, I don't 

believe there is one single person on the face of this earth that 

is 100% sane. I just like showing my insanity more than most people do, 

so give this woman a break PLEASE :P

I want to make sure that when I die my tombstone will say, 

"Here Lies A Fool That Loved The Whole World" instead of "Crazy Lady Here, 

Keep Away, She Might Still Bite".

The bottom line is that I always recognize when I am wrong 

and I am never afraid to apologize. 

I may be the biggest fool on the face of the Earth, 

and yes maybe a little OR a lot crazy, 

but I have a BIG heart that is always open 

and ready to give love to whoever 

is brave enough to be part of my life <333

Today I want to bring to you something that is out of this world. I am serious :P

It is a space galaxy that was recommended to me by Vince Ergaron. But before I start, 

I want to thank my good friend Riyad Rozen for helping me out in making it possible to

show you the many great features you can enjoy when you go with your loved one 

to this galactic park.

Riyad has agreed to help me from now on whenever I need a male model 

for any articles that will require a couple. As I said before for those that right 

away get so alarmed when they see me accompanied by a gentleman in my pictures, 

Riyad and I are really good friends and we respect each other very much that is why 

I feel comfortable taking these type of pictures with him. While I was taking our 

photos he spent the whole time chatting with friends, I think I should kick his butt, 

don't you agree?

Inspire Space Park

has to be one of the most popular cosmic space galaxy Sims,

 if not the only one in Second Life. It is a body of separated rocks floating in the air. 

Each of the major platforms provides various "actions" for all visitors.

It is recommended that you set you "time of day" to midnight 

so you can better get the feeling of being out in space and really appreciate the luminous

stars that are all around. But as you might have noticed by now, I found it necessary 

to set my time of day to sunset in order to bring you a clearer and brighter picture.

Don't worry if you do not have a partner to take with you. Orbital Roll, Spin, 

Drift and Fall Out are some of the great options you can still enjoy without the 

need of a partner. You will find yourself gently flying through the stars while 

asteroids dance around you.

Orbital Meditation has to be one of the most relaxing things you can do in this area. 

As you gently float through space, the whole world seems to have vanished and 

you'll get a great feeling of tranquility that is indescribable. Tai Chi is another 

form of relaxation for those that like to practice this beautiful Chinese ancient art.

My Luminous Heaven

I am determined to start focusing on why I am really in Second Life

and that is to explore the many beautiful sims Second Life has to offer. 

I had lost track there for a while but fortunately, I got hold of the reigns again 

and now I am heading in the right direction. I'll start visiting again different

 locations and showing you the best features that I personally find special

in each one of them.

Today I want to tell you about the most beautiful place in Second Life where you can take

your loved one dancing, Lovers Cove. Personally, this is my favorite dancing heaven. 

Most of the time when you see me dancing  there, I'll be dancing alone, 

I am a Second Life single lady and I intend to stay that way. I really don't mind. 

I enjoy dancing with myself. My good friend Otis found this very beautiful ballroom

 among the stars for me.

Beautiful, luminous gazebos floating on a glass platform are the perfect way of having 

your own private dancing space with your partner even when there are other people

around you. However if what you and your partner are looking for is to dance together 

with other couples, couple dance pose balls have been placed throughout the area 

allowing you to dance anywhere your little heart desires.

It is best to set your time of day at sunset, this way you will be able to fully appreciate 

the many radiant features that make Lovers Cove so enchanting. You'll be magically

surrounded by bright shining stars and flowers that continuously and gently navigate

around this beautiful galactic heaven. As you zoom out, you will discover that you are 

in the middle of a "galaxy within our planet" as my friend Andy described it.

SLoopsies: The Itch

Don't tell me you have NEVER had an embarrassing moment happen to you in Second Life?

Come on, you can tell me, trust me, I won't tell anyone :p

I myself had so many that I already lost count. I don't mind sharing them with you, 

though. You all already know what a goofball I am. You can laugh if you want, I don't 

mind. I laugh at myself all the time. Of course, I have to admit it, though, 

at the moment they happen, I just want to die. Sometimes I'll just lose it during 

the moment and I will get a laugh attack. What else can I do, I am so clueless that 

I never finish amusing myself.

This will be the first SLoopsie from my long list of embarrassing moments 

that I will be sharing with you.

At the beginning of my friendship with Grubby, he was the only person 

I would run to every time I had a problem. One day I decided to visit a store where 

all the items were either free or L$1. After I had obtained a few items, I was eager to

 try them on. I went down the list one by one trying each thing and wearing 

every single item included in each folder.

Suddenly I had to step away from my computer for a few minutes and on my return, 

I noticed my Avi was scratching herself... "down there". 

I know I know, so un-ladylike. Terrified I tried everything to make her stop doing 

that. However, I couldn't figure out what was causing it.

Suddenly I noticed Grubby logging in and immediately I IMed him. 

I told him my Avi kept "like" scratching and I couldn't make it stop. 

He asked me where was I scratching, and I told him I was too embarrassed to say. 

Suddenly he sent me a teleport to his location. I kept telling him that I didn't want him to

see me like that but he insisted. He said he had to see what I was doing in order to 

be able to help me.

So after a while, I got the courage to show him and I went to him. 

There I am standing in front of  Grubby and scratching constantly. 

He stood there looking at me without saying a word. I felt like I wanted to crawl 

under a rock and die. I could just imagine him laughing at me on the other side of his screen. :(  

After a long silence, he finally said we would figure out what was causing my problem.

He guided me through several steps trying to figure out the problem but nothing 

seemed to work. He then told me to remove my AO to see if that was what caused 

me to keep scratching and gave me a new one, but still, the scratching continued.

After trying over and over again everything he can possibly think of, 

he asked me to check under "My Appearance" to see what I was wearing. 

I carefully went down the list and suddenly there it was, like a slap to the face 

looking back at me and sticking its tongue out... Itching Crotch!!!

Grubby was waiting for me to say what I had found in my "Wearing" list. 

Feeling extremely embarrassed, I kept trying to figure out how to tell him what I had

discovered without seeming so dumb. Finally, after trying unsuccessfully to avoid 

having to say it, I finally came out and just said... " I don't know how but I am wearing 

an animation called "Itching Crotch :( ".

 He laughed, but just a little, and then proceeded to assure me that the embarrassing

situation hadn't been THAT bad..... yeah right :P

As you can imagine, now I double and even triple-check every single item that I am gonna wear.

Since that day I haven't been able to look grubby in the eyes. :(

Bird Wings

The night is cold and I feel so scared... 

I feel so lonely...

 so lonely and scared.

Oh, how I wish I could open my arms 

and be able to fly like a bird to my mother's side.

But she's so far away and I am only nine...

Mami I need you so much!

Still, a lot of cold days of hunger and despair await me before I see you again.

Mami why did you send me away?  

I know you say that is for my own good so I can have a better life.

But mami I need you, I want to feel the warmth of your hug. 

It is so cold here, I was given just a single blanket

to cover my shivering little body in the winter nights.

I go to bed every night with my stomach crying... 

mami I don't eat much. If these people only knew 

that when they send me to the market to get the meat they are going to eat, 

I steal tiny pieces on the way back. I eat it raw... I am so hungry. 

Don't worry mami I am good, I don't take much, but if they only knew... 

I am so scared, I hope they don't notice missing the tiny pieces I took.

Mami I sit most nights up on the rooftop when everyone sleeps. 

My tiny body shivers, not only because of the cold winter 

but because I feel so unloved. And many times I have wondered., 

"If I jump will God give me the bird wings to fly?"... 

Mami I want to fly to you.

Can you feel it in your heart? 

My heart is screaming to you, please come save me 

from the old man that the other children call grandpa 

and that is so sweet to them. 

Mami the grandpa touches me and hurts me... 

I am so scared. But now I know what to do mami, you would be so proud. 

I run and hide behind the big dog that is chained in the back. 

He barks at the grandpa and won't let him near me and I feel safe. 

I sleep sometimes with him, in his big yellow dog house, 

he is my best friend here.

On a good day mami, the nuns from the convent that is a few blocks away 

will give me an apple... I love apples, they are a feast for me. 

But I go to them when the family is busy and won't notice I am gone. 

I always hurry, they can't find out I have been gone.... 

I better hurry, I am running back so fast, I can still taste the apple.... 

I am smiling inside.... 

Oh, mami  they caught me... 

please grown-ups don't hit me so hard. I am only nine and I was so hungry... 

mami it hurts so much!

It is morning now, I have cried all night and my body is aching.. 

dying but I must get up. Body please get up!!! 

I need to help the mom clean this big old house. 

Every day I clean and clean, I want some rest.

 Why can't I play with the other children? 

I want to play. 

I watch them play and laugh from far away. 

Mami please tell me, why can't I play with them? 

Is it because I am a bad girl or because I look dirty and my shoes are torn? 

Mami I want to play.

Mami today is the first day I feel so happy, they are taking me back to you. 

Goodbye my dear doggie for all your love and protection, 

tonight I will sleep with my mami. 

No more cleaning, no more cold nights, and hunger.

I can now start being a little girl.

Mami you look so pretty,

 just like an angel, 

I feel so good in your arms. I am smiling... 

I can't stop smiling... thank you, my dear God.

What?!!! 

No mami don't let them take me away again. I've been here with you only for a few hours, 

I want to stay. Mami I am holding on to you so tight, but they are pulling me away...

no mami if you only knew... but they told me not to say. Can't you see it in my face? 

My tears are screaming, please mami I don't want to go back. 

Please don't cry mami... 

look I'll go with them again, just don't cry mami...everything is ok.

Goodbye mami, I'll see you in a year again.

The night is cold and I am so hungry... 

I feel so scared and I am only nine. 

It's ok God if you don't give me the bird wings I wanted to fly, 

mami will only send me back again to them. I don't want to make her cry, 

I want to make her proud, So I'll just pretend.

The Nature Lover

Virtualandy Capra, or Andy as I rather call him, has to be my #1 nature-loving friend.

The day I met Andy I was sitting on top of a hill with my head resting on a rock 

looking down at the river that runs through the mountains and waiting as I always did... 

but I won't bore you with the details of what or who I was waiting for, that is not important.

Andy came to my side almost as if the rain had brought him to me. Soon after as he had

said hello, the rain started falling down...

The day we met, my poor Andy had to deal with a withdrawal Lori. 

I was feeling like I needed to be alone. He stood by my side and started so passionately

talking about the rain and nature. I kept quiet and occasionally I would answer back with

 as few words as I could... I just didn't feel like talking much. However, my not so friendly

behavior didn't discourage him and he continued to talk. Now I am glad he stayed with me

by the rock. He described his memories of nature so well, that I could almost feel as if I had

shared those very same experiences and feelings with him. Almost as I had been there.

Andy has a way with words. He is very well educated and wise and a complete gentleman.

The other day as we were dancing he had this to say...

A Sweet Cup Of Coffee

What a better way than to accompany a friendly "hello" than with a hot cup of coffee. 

That is how my good friend Gee greeted me the other day. As soon as she logged into

SL and I IMed her, she sent me a cup of "Gee Koffee".  Everyone that knows me, knows 

how much I really enjoy drinking coffee every morning, with two spoons of sugar, tons 

of cream, AND powder chocolate... yes, my coffee must have chocolate in it or else I 

won't drink it :P Hey, I even carry chocolate in my purse in case I feel like drinking 

coffee when I go out.

Yesterday I found the perfect place to enjoy this delicious hot and sweet drink that

 my spunky friend Gee was so sweet to send me. While listening to The Beatles

Radio.Com and being embraced by the warm atmosphere of this inviting 

sitting area where a collection of old record albums and a turntable are the 

the main attraction, I was able to relax and unload a little of the tension I was 

carrying due to the many unexpected events that have been coming my way lately.

I was so glad when Gee accepted to join me and together we spent a good time talking 

about love, heartbreaks, life, art, friendship, and many other topics. She also encouraged 

me and made me promise her that I write poetry to add to my SL profile. My good friend

once said to me, "Lori, you are like a wordsmith!"... so sweet <3 

We actually never ran out of conversation. The only reason we had to say goodbye 

was because I had to work on my blog.

Spunky Gee

Meet my new friend Gee, she loves frog jokes and she is spunky as she can be. 

Yesterday she invited me over to her house which she shares with her other three 

SL sisters and let me tell you, it was wow, wow, and super wow. I was totally thrown

 away by such creativity. Gee actually made the house herself and one of her sisters 

helped her decorate it. It is absolutely PERFECT!!! The walls are in a beautiful vivid green

color and the decoration is absolutely perfect. One of its best features is the glass walls

which gives you the sensation of being outdoors. The view in any direction is spectacular.

The land that surrounds her home has been beautifully set up with a magnificent waterfall

and swimming pool. There are many sitting areas to choose from and a fireplace has been

added for those bohemian nights spent with good friends. During my visit, we were

embraced by the rain which added a big plus to my visit.

I met Gee on Sunday during my visit to Mizty Mountains. 

My friend Virtualandy Capra (Andy) had recommended this beautiful place and I 

was eager to explore it. As soon as I arrived at this location, Gee appeared on 

her Segway and immediately we initiated into a friendly conversation.

Gee is so sweet that as soon as I told her I liked her "scooter", she gave me 

a black one as a gift. After explaining to me how to use it, I hopped on and we

 continued to explore together. She is very familiar with this area and she considers

 it the most beautiful place in SL. She took me to a very special spot where she 

sleeps under the stars. I think I will be trying that too.

Once I left her I received an IM from my good friend Otis, eager to show him the wonderful

gift Gee had given me. I sent him a Teleport and asked him to come and see my new scooter.

It's a Segway!" he said, "No Otis it's a scooter :P" I responded trying to correct him, "What a

dumb-butt, it's a Segway!". He had to explain what it's called and what it's used for. I tell

you people, I am so clueless sometimes :(

Something VERY important you must know about my good friend Gee, she is an amazing

artist. She has a gallery of her wonderful art. As I visited her "Gallery KyrArt, Mooter - Moderate", 

and I was pleasantly impressed by her immense talent.

Belly Dancing

I had been searching high and low for a beautiful Indian attire, 

not just any beautiful one, but the perfect one, and I finally found it last night

at MASHOOKA store. My new blue Kavita  Gharara dress ran approximately

 for L$1500 to L$2000 altogether with the gorgeous Lakshami jewelry 

that I am wearing, but it's really worth every $Linden!

Now I have my eye set on another beautiful Indian pink dress and jewelry 

that is slightly higher than this one but I'll start saving my L$ and hopefully soon,

I'll be able to get it.

Today, my new dress was a total success, as I visited various Sims, 

I kept getting asked where I had gotten it from. I had to send LM

for at least five times to girls who fell in love with it as much as I did.

Not only did I find my dream Indian dress in this location, but I also discovered 

that in the back of the store across MASHOOKA, you can find the orbs for Belly Dance. 

I am in love with this mesmerizing dance and couldn't believe my luck. 

I also have to admit it, I totally fell in love with this area and I have formally adopted it as

my SL home. The ocean view is spectacular and it is completely isolated from almost

everything.

I had been dancing by myself taking photos for about an hour or so 

when guess who dropped by to say hello? The one and only Beetles! He had just returned

from a "Battle of The Bands" event where he had played with his great band and had

decided to check SL to see if I was still there.

He owed me a dance for a while now, and what better time than this to pay up :P 

Actually, he enjoyed it so much that he said it was really ten dances he owes me 

and that I'll be seeing more of him... LOL.  I absolutely love my good friend Beetles, 

he always makes me laugh and thinks my blog and I rock!

BTW, my good friend Beetles is so good-looking in real life that I wanted to post his real

picture in an article I wrote about him, but he said, "NO, just use a Bon Jovi one!!!"  :P
