Steal My Breath Away

BLAST FROM THE PAST

“The diamond chandelier casts a warm glow across the shimmering silk dress,
spinning into romantic colors.
Rich bright gold, soft blush, and glittering champagne.”

Hello Beautiful World!
Today, I want to start the day by honoring a beautiful gown from the past.
This is the EMMA Gown by PURPLEMOON CREATIONS, designed by our very talented Second Life
designer Poulet Koenkamp. I featured this beautiful gown when it was first released back in November,
2014, in a blog post that I titled Take Me In Your Arms. Wow, how time flies! Good thing we don't get
old in Second Life. Unfortunately, fashion does. As you might have guessed, the gown is no longer
available. It was created for the classic avatar in five sizes (xs, s, m, l, and xl), like they used to create
fashion back then. So you would think there's no way it can fit on today's mesh bodies, right?
Well, I was shocked when I tried it on my Maitreya body, using the alpha mask that was included with
the gown, and it actually fit almost perfectly, just for a very minor detail on the top back, barely
noticeable, which can be easily hidden by wearing long hair.

Now the gown is composed of several separate pieces that I can make copies of and use in other ways
for my photography. For example, with the flower adornments, I was able to unlink and modify them, so
I can make beautiful flower arrangements for my hair and matching bouquets. Now, don't think for a
minute that I'll be destroying the gown to create new things with the flowers. I'll be using copies of the
pieces I need for that. I have much respect for the beautiful gown and the hard work Ms Poulet put into
designing it. Not to mention that I still love it just as much as I did when it was first created. My
beautiful EMMA gown will stay with me for at least another twelve years. ;)
By the way, my hair is from WINGS (EF0208).

This is all for now my beautiful people. Have an amazing day everyone!
Much love,
Lori Novo
