This Much!
She opened her arms
As wide as they'd go
and in a giggly voice
she called her mom
to let her know...
"Look mommy, I love you this much!"
Her mom looked back and smiled and told her she loved her too
while continuing walking
to the next fruit booth.
They stopped at the next fruit stand
where freshly picked apples shine with the sun
and again the little girl opened her arms
as wide as they'd go
and she looked up at her mother's face
and in a sweet whisper, she said
"Mommy, I love you this much"
Her mother looked at her
and with a warm smile, she replied,
"Sweetie I told you already, I love you too very much!"
Mother and daughter continue
Stopping at every fruit stand
The little girl has become silent
her eyes looking down at her feet
Mom is too busy buying
the vegetables and fruits they'll need for the week.
Tears rolled down the little girl's pink cheek
When suddenly she stopped and opened her arms as wide as they'd go
And in a scream, she called out to her mother
"MOMMY, MOMMY, I LOVE YOU THIS MUCH!!!"
Her mom stopped and looked back at her
and finally, she saw her little girl's tears
She then kneeled in front of her
and now with tears in her eyes, she replied
"My beautiful sweet princes... I love you too this much!"
And the mother opened her arms as wide as they'd go.
The sun shone so brightly
and the birds filled the air with their songs
while mother and daughter embraced each other
and all the people around them
could see that mother and daughter
loved each other "that much".
