If only for a moment
Each one of us would put ourselves in the shoes
of those who are suffering due to wars,
and live their lives just for a day, an hour, or even a moment,
and feel their pain, their losses, and their terror.
Maybe, just maybe we would wake up
and put an end to the killing of thousands of innocent people,
the destruction of their beautiful cities, and the displacement of families.
Maybe if only for a moment
we remember that we were all created equally,
feeling the same love for our children, parents, spouses, friends, and family.
We all have the same fears
and feel pain the same way,
then maybe,
we would begin to see our enemy as a friend, a brother, or a sister.
War kills everything,
Everything beautiful and innocent... on both sides.
