Coffee Drip

On that September day (September 26, 2017, 9:42 a.m.)
I had just returned from a doctor's appointment where I had two biopsies done to my skin.
One on my right temple and the other one on my left leg. Now all I had to do was wait
two weeks for the results. Coming out of the doctor's office, I found that the sky was cloudy,
something that made me smile.
"This is my kind of day," I thought. "All I need is the rain now..."

As I drove back home, the sky continued to get darker and darker,
Suddenly, it started to drizzle when I was just a couple of blocks away from my home.
I got out of my truck moving as fast as I could to my porch
making it just in time as the heavy rain finally started to pour down.
I hurried inside and changed into dry, comfortable clothes and then
headed into the kitchen to prepare me some breakfast, sausage & eggs with toast
and I grabbed my cup of coffee.

I chose to eat my breakfast by my favorite window to enjoy watching the rain.
I begin to stir my coffee...
I took a little sip of it and was glad to see that it was super hot, just the way I like it.

I continued stirring my coffee
causing some coffee drips to run down on one side of the cup.
Nine coffee drips in all, yes, I counted them.
I saw how they seemed to be racing each other to the bottom.
One stopped right away, the others continued making their way down.
Then three other stopped almost together as they reached halfway,
next, two stopped right after halfway, and another two right after that.
The last remaining drip continued sliding down, refusing to stop.

I was thinking I shouldn't let it get all the way down because then I'll have to clean
the table, and yet, I was curious to see how far down it would go.
It continued down
down
down
and I found myself smiling for this coffee drip and almost cheering for it,
and yes, the coffee drip finally reached the bottom going under the cup...

We Got A Winner!

I raised the cup to clean the table as I was smiling for this determined coffee drip
that refused to stop in the middle of the race like all the others did.

Hello Beautiful World!
Call me crazy, but simple things like this can really put a smile on my face any day,
even on those ones after having pieces of me removed.
Unfortunately, the test results came back not so good, but one must keep faith that everything
will be ok.

That day of my biopsies, I woke up worried about going to the doctor.
I was really scared about what they would be doing to me and the results I would get.
I had actually been worried for months since I had started feeling sick
and I had been waiting for the specialist's appointment for weeks.
But once I walked out from the doctor's office that morning and was greeted by a cloudy day
and then the rain, I felt a sense of peace since my favorite days are the cloudy-dark rainy ones.
And after, that little coffee drip on my cup, just brightened my day even more.

There are always miracles and lessons to be learned all around us if we take the time
to see what is happening even in the smallest of things. A simple tiny drip of coffee had power
enough to help me forget for a moment what was going on on that day, it made me smile ;)
It also taught me to continue fighting no matter what and never to give up.
And the rain on that day was just a wonderful gift from the sky
to turn a dreadful day into a beautiful one.

My fight continues every day and I am not ready to give up any day soon,
Thanks for reading my beautiful people.
Have an AmaZinG day!
With all mi amor,
