Once there was a little girl that loved the rain.
She lived alone with her grandma in a small one-bedroom home... a home full of love and dreams.
Their home was very humble, but through the innocence and magic of this little girl's eyes,
that small home was beautiful and perfect.
There was so much joy in her heart that toys were not necessary to make this little girl happy.
The woods next to their little home was her playground. There she loved to run barefoot on the grass
chasing butterflies. She loved running against the wind, feeling its caress on her little face
as it played with her long brown hair.
She built castles and mansions with dry broken branches and grass. She would chase the lizards and
march along with the ants. She loved climbing the blackberry tree and would stay up there for hours
just watching the sunshine on the creek below creating sparkling dancing diamonds on the water.
She would close her eyes and listen to the birds sing and she would think "What a beautiful world!".
She would sing, at the top of her lungs, melodies taught to her by her grandma
and would dance with her arms raised up as she looked at the clouds above her
and feel so protected and loved by the surrounding nature that she felt belonged to her.
Drip... Drip... Drip... and then the rain would start to fall down and she would scream with joy...
"Oh beautiful rain, thank you for coming!"
Puddles of water would start to grow, bigger and bigger as the rain continued.
Then running downhill like little rivers through the stones. She would jump into them,
splashing water everywhere as the rain continued to shower on her.
"LAURAAAA!" ... her grandma would call out to her, and she would happily run to her side,
collecting flowers on the way, knowing that her grandma's loving arms were open waiting for her,
and once in there, dripping wet and all muddy, with her head resting on her grandma's heart,
she would place the flowers on her grandma's head and say...
"Buelita Carmen, I love you so much!"
Innocence is the one treasure I wish I still had. Unfortunately, it is easy to lose nowadays,
and once it is lost the world changes in our eyes.
How I miss those days when I felt like a princess and the woods were my palace.
How I miss jumping into a puddle of rain while singing at the top of my lungs up to the sky.
How I miss my beautiful and perfect little home by the woods.
But most of all, how I miss looking into my grandma's eyes while resting my head on her chest
listening to her heartbeat, and feeling the embrace of her loving hug.
Love you so much buelita Carmen, now you come in the rain and dance in the wind. <3
Please my beautifuls, give your grandparents the biggest hug for me
Forever Yours
