Hell Of A Journey

“Butterflies are beautiful,
but the process of emerging from the chrysalis and spreading your wings can hurt like f*cking hell.
But still, you will survive the transformation (over and over again) and you will fly.
Remember this when it hurts the most.
This is the metamorphosis, the going down to liquid, and the rising again.
It’s no joke – but damn, it’s one hell of a journey.”
― Jeanette LeBlanc

My eyes can only see as far as I allow them.
It is fear that sets the limit to how far I can go, causing blindness to what lies ahead.
Fear of the unknown is what deprives me of experiencing and enjoying new and different gifts
that await me beyond the boundary line.
These precious gifts that are on the other side of my comfort zone are tools to help me improve my life.
But what if I get hurt in the process?
That is the fear in me speaking again,
limiting me, stopping me, dominating me.
Fear is a disability that imprisons my soul to a non-growing state of mind.
How little I am for listening to the fear that lives inside my head, when I could be growing
and growing and roaming with the giants. Instead, I hide under their shadows.

So I break the chains in my head that connect me to my fears.
I set myself free and accept the challenge.
I will go as far as I have to go, enduring any pain that may come my way,
with my head held high and proud. Undefeated, strong, and brave.
And I will grow like a tall Buloke, with iron running through my veins.
I will be the fiercest storm,
And I will be the gentle butterfly emerging from the pain of transformation
like a queen, with a smile and ready to take over the world.
No more tears of pain or fear. Only tears to water the earth below my feet
to help the flower grow.
One day, I will arrive at the final destination triumphant and joyous.
Wearing scars and heartbreaks like medals of honor.
And I will be pronounced a survivor, and a brave warrior, but never a victim.
What a hell of a journey!

Thanks For Reading!

 EXPLORING SECOND LIFE

"Begin, be bold, and venture to be wise.
It's not because things are difficult that we dare not venture.
It's because we dare not venture that they are difficult.
Every dream begins with a dreamer."

Pozdravljen lepi svet! [Hello beautiful World!]
Welcome to Lake Bled @ Overland Hills (Moderate)
Inspired by Lake Bled in Slovenia, famous for its crystal-clear waters, small island church, and
serene alpine setting.

Rez Rights Group: Nigrum Cattus

Last night, after spending a beautiful time with my Steppenwolf, I felt like going out with Sunny
(my doggie) and exploring one of the many beautiful sims out there. It's been a good while since
I've been out of my studio exploring, and I really enjoyed it very much. I had forgotten how peaceful
and fun it was, shame on me!

My search for a good place to explore took me to beautiful Lake Bled in Slovenia, and I found myself
surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountain peaks and thick forests, where the fresh smell of
nature was hard to ignore. Now, I always like to learn things about the beautiful places that I get to
explore in Second Life, where their creations were inspired by real-life places, for example,

On this occasion, during my search to learn real facts about Lake Bled, I discovered that this beautiful
land is full of myths and legends, like that of the dancing fairies and my favorite, the sunken bell...

The Legend of the Sunken Bell -SOURCE
"This folk tale tells of a young widow who lived in Bled Castle. After her husband was killed by bandits
and his body thrown in the lake, the young woman was inconsolable. Overcome by grief, she collected
all of the gold and silver that she and her husband had and ordered that it be melted down and cast into
a bell to commemorate her fallen beloved. She intended that the bell be installed in the chapel on Bled
Island where she prayed daily after her husband’s death.

However, the bell never arrived at its destination. During its transportation to the island, a storm hit,
and a powerful swell overtook the boat, sinking it and its precious cargo to the bottom of the lake.
Defeated, the widow sold her remaining belongings and offered the proceeds for the construction of a
new church on the island. She left Bled for Rome where she joined a monastery and lived out
the rest of her days as a nun.

After she passed, the Pope heard of her story and was touched by both her misfortune and her good
deeds as a nun. He decided to have a new bell made in her honor and placed in the steeple of the church
on Bled Island. It is believed that anyone who rings this blessed bell three times will have their wish
granted – a promise which tempts visitors to the island again and again.

Those who visit Lake Bled on Christmas Day are privy to a special treat, as every year on December
25th, the Legend of the Sunken Bell is celebrated in a spectacular light show. Spectators gather around
the lake to watch divers recover a bell in a stunning visual performance blending fire and sound,
bringing the legend to life. Of course, the bell the divers recover is one made of lights, designed purely
for the show. As for the real bell, cast by the young widow sitting at the bottom of the lake, it is said that
if you listen closely in the silence of the night, you can still hear it ringing from its watery resting place."  -SOURCE

HERE, you can read more about the myths and legends about this beautiful lake and five great
attraction facts that will make you want to visit beautiful Lake Bled.

Hope you pay a visit to our own Second Life's Lake Bled, and please show some Linden love during your visit.
Remember that all donations, big or small will be greatly appreciated. The song video is a Slovenian song,
I hope you enjoyed it. ;) Have a beautiful day!
I leave you now with Lake Bled's folk tale about the dancing fairies...

"Lake Bled was created by fairies.
The most well-known folk tale about the origin of Lake Bled tells that the lake was created by fairies.
According to the story, the area of the lake used to be a valley full of luscious grass. The local shepherds
liked to bring their sheep to the valley during the day, and fairies loved to use the soft grass as their
dance floor at night. Afraid that the sheep would eat all of their grass, the fairies asked the shepherds to
build a fence around their dance floor. The shepherds refused to help the fairies, and soon the sheep ate
all the grass and left nothing but bare earth behind. Seeking revenge, the fairies flooded the valley and
created a lake with a small island in the middle, where they could continue to dance at night." -SOURCE

Lotus

FEATURING YASUM

“The lotus is the most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one.
But it will only grow in the mud.
In order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud ---
the obstacles of life and its suffering...
The mud speaks of the common ground that humans share,
no matter what our stations in life...
Whether we have it all or we have nothing,
we are all faced with the same obstacles: sadness, loss, illness, dying and death.
If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion,
we must have the intention to grow as a lotus and open each petal one by one.”
― Goldie Hawn

Hello Beautiful Second Life!
I have a funny story to share with you about Yasum Designs, you know, that incredible store that we
all love so much for its amazing designs by designer Azlyn Vaher, whom I absolutely adored,
and I will tell you shortly the reason why this amazing designer melts my heart.
Let me start by saying that my love for Yasum Designs goes way back to my very early years in
Second Life, that would be in the year 2012, March 4th to be perfectly exact. I know this because I
blogged the very day I entered Yasum's doors for the very first time. Here you can read that blog post.
After that day, Yasum became one of my favorite shopping spots to go shopping every time I had
Lindens to spend. Heck, I even had all my Lindens stolen while I was there shopping one day, but in
In my defense, I was very new in Second Life so I didn't know how to protect myself. Anyway, let me
tell you now why I think Mrs. Azlyn Vaher is not only one of the most talented and best designers in
Second Life, but this beautiful lady has a heart of gold, I tell you! She is absolutely generous and kind
and has all my respect and admiration, not that she didn't before, but now it's multiplied by a hundred.

Back at the beginning of this year, on January 1st. Mrs. Azlyn surprised us all with the Mega Sale of the
year by lowering her entire store to 90% off on all her beautiful designs, including new releases and
old gachas. Now, who does that?! Mrs. Azlyn does of course!
Her reasoning for this incredible surprise was a gesture of gratitude to her customers and all
Second Life community. In her kindness and beautiful heart, she wanted to make it possible for
everyone to be able to afford new and beautiful clothes especially those people that were less
fortunate (Here). When I read her Mega Sale announcement I was so touched by her kindness that
I seriously wanted to hug her, but instead, I cried, for reals.

Now, I love shopping just as much as the next girl. However, I refuse to pay full price for the things I
like, so I only blog new releases that are being sent to me by the designers,
or gifted to me by friends or some of you my beautiful readers. The only times I am gladly willing
to pay the full price is when it is an item that comes from a kind and generous designer like Mrs. Azlyn,
Truth Hawks from Truth Hair, and Shena Neox from Poison Rouge just to name a few.
But that's the thing, there are just a very few designers who will go the extra mile for the kindness they
show to their customers like the ones I mentioned above. Now, paying full prices to these wonderful
designers is my way of supporting and thanking them for the kindness they give us.
So I say, give your full support to these kind designers who we know will in return do the same
creating a circle of kindness and support for each other.

Finally, I come to the funny story I want to share with you.
Since I have loved the Yasum brand since the beginning, one of my dreams as a blogger
was to one day be an official blogger for the brand. So some years ago, not really sure how many,
maybe five or eight :P, I applied for a blogging position with high hopes of being accepted.
Time passed and I never heard from them and felt saddened and somehow disappointed
but I continued to blog anything I could get my hands on from this brand. Then after a long time,
and I am talking maybe about two or more years later while going through my notecards,
of which I had thousands of them, and there it was, the notecard lost and never been read for years,
I had been accepted to blog for Yasum. They just needed me to contact someone
so I could be added to the bloggers' group. Omg, you can just imagine, I cried and cried, for reals.
What was I supposed to do after years of not responding...
"Umm, hiiii, it's me Lori, OMG I am so excited! OMG thank you so much, where do I join? Are you there?" :P
Like really, what could I do? My chance was long gone, not even dust or smoke left behind. LOL!
But you know what is even funnier, Yasum wasn't the only brand I lost for not reading the notecards
sent to me, there were others. The only thing left to do was to laugh... and cry at the same time. :P

Video below me after reading the acceptance notecards from the designers years later... :(((

I tell you, life can be so sad sometimes, hehehe. :P
Anyway, I am wearing Yasum Designs new QUEENIE Collection available now at THE ARCADE EVENT.

Funny Girl

OUR MOMENTS TOGETHER

Hello my Friends!
As you can see, I've got a nose job thanks to Steppenwolf who insists on calling me "funny girl".
No matter what I write or say, passionate, romantic, or scary, he always finds it funny.
So I told him next time he called me "funny" I would be putting on a clown nose.
Tonight, once again he called me "funny" and immediately the nose went on, I already had it on
hand waiting for the moment to come.

Lori Novo: baby am I sooo special to you?
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): yes baby
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): muazzz
Lori Novo: that sounds so plain
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): oh you're funny

Lori Novo: there! :P
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): why you got a red nose?
Lori Novo: you said I am funny
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): haha
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): now you're being goofy too?
Lori Novo: I'll be wearing it all the time when we are together :P

Lori Novo: this is my new look
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): well it won't look good on the fashionista circuit
Lori Novo: no baby, just with u
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): :P
Lori Novo: love you :P
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): te amo

While we were dancing, I am not sure what he was trying to do but he lost his pants and shoes.
I was very tempted to take a picture of his butt for the blog but he would have kicked my butt, sorry. :P

Lori Novo: oh babyyy ur pants?
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): lost my pants
Lori Novo: u lost them
Lori Novo: omg they gonna see you
Lori Novo: PICTURE TIME! lol
Lori Novo: they gonna see ur crack in the blog :O
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): wiseacre
Lori Novo: looool
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): better not
Lori Novo: idk baby, sometimes I have no control
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): hahah
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): whats on my feet?
Lori Novo: omg lol
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): what are they
Lori Novo: lol idk baby, you are the one wearing them
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): they are adidas sandals
Lori Novo: they don't look like adidas sandals
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): and i was wearing them under my shoes too
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): no wonder my toes hurt
Lori Novo: lol baby

OMG, my baby is so silly!

If you say it three times, it will come true. ;)

Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): i wish i wish i wish  I could  take
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): your red nose off!!
Lori Novo: lol ok ok :P
Lori Novo: THERE!
(steppen.crescendo): my baby's back!
Lori Novo: muahhhh
Lori Novo: te amo mi amor
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): love you Milkyway
Lori Novo: muahhhhhhh
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): you not gonna post embarrassing butt shots?
Lori Novo: mm I thought you said it was ok to do it, they are being edited as we speak
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): omg
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): gonna spank you
Lori Novo: promise? :P
Lori Novo: no my baby
Lori Novo: I wouldn't do that to you, you know right?
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): yes
Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): well 90% sure :P
Lori Novo: lol

Mmm, that 10% leaves a lot of room for many possibilities.

If I can't walk, I'll crawl.

- Celine Dion

The other day I saw Celine Dion's documentary on Amazon Prime, "I Am, Celine Dion"
It was so powerful, inspiring, and heartbreaking.

But our beautiful Celine is a true warrior, not ready to give up any time soon.
She continues to fight with a smile always on her face and a spark of hope always in her eyes.
Truly an admirable strong woman despite the pain.

I find myself questioning and regretting almost everything I've been posting on my blog
for a while now. At the moment I feel discouraged...
Maybe tomorrow, it will come back to me.

From Mashooka to Shiraz

"Damascus you're my daughter and my mother
You've nurtured my youth in your lap, so will I grow old on your land?
So what should I do to gain your blessings?..."

Hello Beautiful World!
Last night I spent some time at the Bellydance Haram Palace- Shiraz Garden, Oasis (Adult).
I love going there from time to time to dance at the palace where they have a great variety of
dance selections. I always go when there's no one around so I can truly say I dance
like nobody is watching. Not that it would matter since dancing alone has never stopped me
and I actually enjoy it, unless my Steppenwolf is around, then I'll run to his arms to dance with him.
One of my favorite places to go dancing to when I first started Second Life was LOVERS COVE.
It was a beautiful glass platform high in the sky with many floating luminous gazebos that looked
like they were made out of glass. I would doll up in beautiful gowns and spend a couple of hours
dancing there while declining dance invitations from the men who either felt bad for me for
dancing alone or others thinking I was crazy. I really didn't care what they were thinking,
either way, I was truly having so much fun on my own doing one of my favorite things in
Second Life, dancing. ;) By the way, I did get to buy one of the gazebos from Lovers Cove
which I still rez from time to time. You can read about one of my trips to Lovers Cove HERE.

Another beautiful place that I loved going dancing to in my early years was at MASHOOKA.
There, I could buy beautiful Indian attire and then go belly dancing behind the store where there
was an area overlooking the ocean with a beautiful sunset, HERE. I loved that spot so much that it felt like
home to me. My friends already knew where to find me if they saw me online, some even called it
Lori's office. Aww, the memories of the early years, so lovely and sweet...

Steppenwolf (steppen.crescendo): omg what a vault of historical stuff you got

This is how my Steppenwolf refers to my blog since I can pull out blog posts on just about
any subject we are talking about. Last night we were talking about how it was back
many years ago when most of the people that attended Tempura knew us and many were our friends
and the fun and crazy times we would all spend together, HERE. So as you can see, my blog
more than anything else is like my diary. A place where I save moments
lived, both happy and sad. Where I keep and cherish every single person I had the honor of featuring
in the pages of my blog. This is where I will come to when the time comes when I can no longer
return to Second Life. I will find here all the memories of a beautiful life lived that will help me
continue my life with a smile, and knowing that my life was truly touched by so many wonderful
people. One more thing before I go, I love both my lives. Neither one is an escape, but
a beautiful extension of each other. I feel very blessed and loved in both worlds. I really hope
it is the same for you. ;) Til next time, always remember, that what is done in love, is done well.
So today, be the hero in someone's life and wear your cape of kindness.

Much love,
Lori Novo

There Was Brilliancy

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Before you, my life was like a moonless night.
Very dark, but there were stars, points of light and reason...

... And then you shot across my sky like a meteor.
Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty.
When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black.
Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore.
And there was no more reason, for anything.”
