It's A Small Crime And I've Got No Excuse

Featuring eXxEsS

Hello Beautiful World!
I recently found myself in the middle of a very interesting, and controversial conversation where
people were split in half with their opinion on the matter. At first, I was just listening to everyone,
just quietly standing on the sideline until someone noticed me and made my presence notice
when she asked me the question everyone was so heated about when answering.

Is it considered cheating if someone has sex or a relationship in Second Life
while they are already in one in real life?

I really wished no one had noticed me because most times I rather keep my
opinions to myself, for example in politics and religion, these two can really start a riot in a swift.
However, I did give my opinion and of course, half of the group applauded me while the other half
booed me. :P

I  do believe it is cheating, 100% though many people in Second Life don't see it that way.
To be honest with you, when I first came to Second Life and I realized how normal it is for
some people to get involved sexually and/or emotionally with other people here while they
do have a significant other in RL, I was shocked! Perhaps this is because they feel that as long
it is not done in the physical world, then it is alright. For me, physical, virtual, or in whatever
world you are in, it is cheating!

But this was how I answered them;

Lori Novo: ok, let's put it this way. If what you are doing here with another person
like having sex or getting into a relationship and you feel the need to keep it a secret from your RL
significant other, then it is cheating.
Lori Novo: if what you are doing here with other people can hurt your significant
other in rl if they were to find out, then it is cheating!

That was my answer and then I just walked away. I really didn't want to stick around any longer
because that was going to be an ongoing battle for at least an hour or two between the two
groups and you know, I always try to avoid the drama that I really have no room for in my life.

But bottom line, to me it is cheating and I would dump the dude sooner than later if I was to
find out he was having a little fling in some virtual world. Been there, done that, and I am not about to
go down that road again. While there might not be real physical touching, there are still very intimate
moments exchanged with words, and as we all know, words carry a lot of weight, and they can surely
awaken all kinds of feelings, and feelings are all the same, here in SL, RL and in the next. :P
Faithfulness is something that when we truly love someone we can't just choose to leave it outside
while we step into a virtual world because we feel it doesn't apply there.
But then again, that is just little me giving my personal opinion.

Thanks For Reading!
Much Love,
Lori Novo

Raggedy Sad Clown

Featuring
Baiastice

This song is dedicated to my Steppenwolf.
Because without him I'm just a raggedy sad clown.

♫
You know I can't smile without you
I can't smile without you
I can't laugh and I can't sing
I'm finding it hard to do anything
You see I feel sad when you're sad
I feel glad when you're glad
If you only knew what I'm going through
I just can't smile without you...
♫

Hello Beautiful World!
Not too long ago I was confronted with the following question...

When you get partnered with someone in Second Life,
would you say he/she is your partner or your husband/wife?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I seriously thought 100% that the answer was very simple and obvious to everyone.
That everyone would share my take on this one. However, when I asked Steppenwolf this question, I
was shocked to see that he was totally opposite from my answer. WHAT?!
Then it got me thinking, wouldn't it be fun to go out and ask random people their opinion on this topic?
The plan was to ask the question five to six men, and the same for women just to be fair. However, I
gave up after only three, one man, and two women.

Reya (r3ya): i would say he is my partner
Hugote Ferraz Czarny (hugote): I say he/she is your partner
Angelic Fates (angelxcivello): depends on the person either boyfriend or girlfirend or partners

I stopped at three because it seemed it wasn't a good day where people were not really in the mood
to be bothered. Most of my hellos were ignored, not like other days when people are very approachable and friendly. Anyways, let me share with you my opinion on this topic.

I do believe that when people partner in Second Life, though it is a big and serious step to take
that doesn't make you husband and wife. You continue to be just partners until you exchange
vows in a private ceremony between only the two of you, or a very few friends, or at a big wedding.
Partners to me are like when you move in together with your boyfriend/girlfriend and though
there is love, respect, and devotion to each other, still, the final step is necessary to take it
to husband/wife status.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that love and a relationship are not as special and beautiful
if you decide to live in a free union instead of marrying each other. Both kinds of relationships
are beautiful and special. I just like to name things for what they are, that's it.

Life is Ours, We Live it Our Way

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view,
And nothing else matters...

And then, I opened my eyes and the first words out of my mouth were, F*CK IT!

Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

Hello Beautiful World!
After months and months of fighting a self-created battle in my head, this morning I woke up with
a very clear answer to what has been one of the things that have been tormenting me.
I tend to dwell intensively sometimes on minor things.
Many times we are the creators of our demons wouldn't you agree?

Grab that bull by the horns and show it who's the boss!
Life shouldn't be so difficult when it comes to decision-making on the things that are meant to bring
us joy. Once something starts feeling more like a burden rather than a pleasant task then it is time
to abandon-ship or at least take it in a different direction.

I chose this time a different direction. I am not ready to abandon ship just yet, that
will most likely be decided on how much life my computer has left in it. I can almost hear my poor
Mac screaming in agony and fearing the end is coming soon. Once that happens maybe it will be
time to take a long, long break from Second Life until I can save enough for a new machine.
That would take me approximately... let's see, $5 to $10 dollars saved a month...
you do the math. :P

My Mac is very old, it has reached the grandparent stage at this point
but keeps trying to act like it still can perform, but who are we fooling really. For every picture you
see here in this blog post (21 to be exact) there were at least 4 to 10 disastrous ones in-between each camera click.
Small example below.

Come on click them, don't be afraid :P

I know I know, the horror and the frustration.
This photoshoot took approximately five hours to be completed, with many crashes, freezes, etc.

But going back to where we started.
Many people ask what is the purpose in life and the answer for me is to be happy.
To do everything possible to feel happy in what we do even if this means many times
letting go of the things that no longer can be effectively applied to the new plans and goals we
set for ourselves, even if these things once served us greatly. Times change and change
always bring new and different things and therefore will require new tools and methods
to be applied.

Let Go of What Weighs You Down!
