Live and Let Live

Featuring
FA CREATIONS & FINESMITH

Dear Second Life,
I do not mind getting my feet wet every once in a while.
Doing the unexpected/unplanned can be so much fun. But many times I have to be careful
not to cross the line. You know what line I am referring to, the one that starts screaming at you
as you are getting closer to it... "Back off! You are about to enter the unknown. You have never been
on this side, are you sure you want to continue?"

Every time I get too close to it, I make a U-turn and run away. I hear all the time that Second Life
was created so we can do and be whatever we choose to and I do agree with that.
However, there are things that I would never dare to do and lines I would never cross.
It is not that I am afraid, or maybe I am, but it's my principles that stop me from going beyond
what is normal.

Now, I do understand that what is normal for some may not be normal for others.
It is our upbringing that defines our "norms". As a Catholic Hispanic my upbringing was somehow
strict. There was an endless list of what was expected from me and what wasn't.
But don't get me wrong, my younger years were still very much fun, even with all the restrictions
and expectations. I do confess that there were times that I would secretly enjoy something
from the "DO NOT' list. For example, going to a dance with my friends on a Saturday night,
watching an "R" rated movie, or even riding on the back of a bike with some cute boy that had long,
golden curls and eyes as blue as the sky.

But my trespasses never went too far. My principals were always very strong
even during my little rebel moments.  I never did any drugs or drink, not even smoked a cigarette.
Not much of a rebel right? When I first started my Second Life I was eager to start living a new life,
but soon after, I was gone for a few months. The things I saw when I came here were just too much for
me to handle. I ran away like a scared little animal and hid. After a while, I decided to give it another
try, and so I returned willing to keep an open mind and hopefully learn new things in the process.
Making this decision was one of the best things I could have done for myself. Second Life has helped
me come out of my little shell and helped me grow as a person and for the very first time
I stepped out of my comfort zone. I did become more open-minded to all those things that were new
to me. I became more accepting of the different lifestyles and choices that people make.
Don't get me wrong, I have never in my life been one to judge anyone and I do believe that I have
always been acceptable and understanding. However, thankfully Second Life has helped me
reinforce these two things.

Second Life is for all people and all their differences. We are no one to judge others for their choices
and the lifestyles they choose. We each have the right to make the choices we want for our own lives as
long as our choices don't hurt others directly and intentionally. Still, some people choose to see other
peoples' lives as personal insults to them.  We need to focus on our own lives and stop worrying about
what the neighbor is doing. We as intelligent humans always have room for improvement. I won't say
that I agree or like every choice other people make. But that is their life and I don't see how those
choices can affect my own life in any way. So why should I be bothered?

LIVE AND LET LIVE!

Forever Yours,
~ Lori Novo ~

As you can see my articles are like crazy, all over the place.
I can jump from one topic to another
in a blink of an eye, leaving you, my poor readers wondering...
"Wasn't she like talking about something else just like a minute ago?"
I do this intentionally to keep you on the edge of your seat. Actually, I do this because my posts
are an example of how my head works. By the time you finish reading this, my head has already gone
through at least three totally different thoughts :P
This is the life of a nut I tell you.

So now let's move on to fashion.

What I am wearing for this post I am LOVING!
I actually cheated a little while I was in "hibernation" and took a quick peek
on Flickr and saw this cool outfit from

She is one of the designers I have the pleasure of collaborating with and that I absolutely adore.
I immediately emailed her and asked her, actually more like begged her, to save me the outfit.
She, of course, said "Yes Lori" and I bet she had a big smile when she said that because she is just sooo sweet
