FIFTY5 THURSDAY
"Love, the most complicated emotion in the world,
this emotion drives people to do immeasurable things.
And I’m talking about real love, A Love that surpasses all superficial behavior.
When she dies..... I die. For Her Last Breath, will be my very last Breath,
because without her, I am nothing...
To experience this emotion is tragic. To love someone so much that it hurts to just breathe their name, but all along knowing, you’re going to have to walk away from them and never see that person again. That’s an even deeper love that most people do not get to experience. Love is the most powerful emotion in the world. It's true. Kingdoms have been built on love and they have been destroyed for love... Damn Confusing emotion."
Dear Second Life,
The above text is not mine to be claimed. It belongs to Michael Woodyer who left it as a comment
for this beautiful song "Say Something", an indie-pop piano ballad by A Great Big World featuring the amazing voice of Christina Aguilera. This has become my favorite song at the moment and for the last few days.
I have noticed that new cover versions of the song are being uploaded daily.
Here are a few of my personal favorites so far...
This song can very much define many relationships in Second Life. I know most of you will agree with
me when I say that Second Life love can be very painful. How many times have we had to let go of that
person that has meant so much to us. We've come to realize that we have spent more time with that one person than any other person not only in Second Life but in real life as well.
But everything in life has to come to an end, just like life itself. Unfortunately in SL relationships seem
to end as fast as they start. I call these relationships disposable and absurd. The estimated duration for most SL relationships according to many people is two months, three if you are lucky. And in less than a month, most have moved on to the next one.
For instance, how many of you are in a SL relationship, where you know that you will never get the
chance to be with this person in real life even though they are your true love?
To know that with each passing day the love keeps growing and getting stronger but you will never be
able to hold them in your arms, to feel the warmth of their hug and taste the sweetness of their kiss?
In this kind of relationship, we live the love day by day, embracing every moment and cherishing every memory but in the back of our head, there is always that fear of the day when we must say goodbye to
our loved one. We keep hoping that we may be granted more and more time with them as possible before that dreadful goodbye that is inevitable.
Is this kind of relationship good for us? Is it worth the pain that it will bring at the end?
I personally say yes it is! If it's true love then it can't be wrong. We must also remember that even in real
life, love is never guaranteed to last forever even though we hope, and that is always our intention when we marry someone. So why should we deny ourselves the joy of a love that will bring happiness into
our lives even if it's running on borrowed time?
I do bow to those that have found true love in SL and are now continuing it in real life.
They are the very few that have beaten the odds and I applaud them.
Never fear love,
rather fear never being loved or have never loved in return.
Forever Yours,
~ Lori Novo ~
