I know what you are thinking, you are wondering why after sharing a happy song early today

I now bring you a very sad one. Don't worry, the mood hasn't changed,

I am still walking on sunshine. ;)

It is just that every time I dress this way, you know, like for Day of the Dead, I use the same song,

La Llorona, I look for different interpretations of this song by different artists.

By the way, I love this new outfit by irrISIStible which I am pretty sure was meant to be as a religious,

sexy outfit, but as soon as I saw it it spoke to me DIA DE LOS MUEROS!

My favorite part of it is the beautiful headpiece which is perfect for both the religious or

Day of the Dead looks.

Hello Beautiful World!

I sometimes tend to leave Kansas to then return with my tail between my legs like a little lost puppy.

This usually happens when I think the grass might be greener on the other side and so I run to it,

like a moth drawn to light. Sometimes it takes me a while to realize that the grass is fake, yes, shiny

and pretty, but not real. Then, I look back to my own grass and realize that "oops" my yard has the best grass

in the neighborhood. And I run back feeling very proud of my grass and I water it and watch it

grow, and grow, and grow, until very early one morning I am awakened by Steppenwolf's lawnmower

mowing my beautiful grass. Then I'm thinking, "Oh man, but it looked so pretty. >:("

But you know those neighborhood regulations where you have to keep the grass clean-cut as if it is

serving some military duty. If it was up to me I would let it grow and grow till it was as high as the

trees, then I could play there hide-n-seek with my Steppenwolf. Can you imagine how much fun that would be?

Now, I am aware that by now you all are wondering what am I talking about, "Is she ok?

She's not making any sense." I know this is just nonsense talk that at the moment I am thinking is damn

good writing, but trust me, in a day or two I'll be laughing too. So this is really for my own

amusement to save for a rainy day when I find myself in need of a good laugh. :P

Anyways, when I say that sometimes I think the grass might be greener on the other side I am not

referring to anything in particular. It is just a metaphor for Doherty's quote about Kansas.

In the film The Wizard of Oz, Kansas represents "home" for Doherty. Kansas also represents

our normal surroundings and what we are used to. When we find ourselves no longer in Kansas

it means we have stepped out into the unknown, usually into strange or/and uncomfortable situations.

Toto, I have a feeling we are at the ENCHANTMENT EVENT.

Indeed, today I wore my new beautiful Oz Doherty Full Outfit by irrISIStible

and embarked down the yellow brick road on an excitable journey full of color and wonder.

This quarterly shopping event has to be one of the most loved events in Second Life based on all that is

magical and fairy tales. This time, it opened with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Round (& Other Oz Tales),

based on the 1939, American musical film, starring Judy Garland.

Embark on a whimsical journey down the yellow brick road at our enchanting Wizard of Oz Shopping

Event and Hunt. Explore a bountiful emporium filled with treasures inspired by the Emerald City, from

I absolutely LOVE my new Doherty outfit by irriSIStible that you can get at the event

together with all the other characters from the film who come in complete outfits with everything you will need

from skins, hair, accessories, shoes, etc.

the sparkling red shoes.

Now the highlights of today's visit to the event.

First, when I ran into Lilia Levitsky dressed also as Doherty, it made me very happy to see that I wasn't

the only one at the event in a costume. She looked beautiful in her Doherty dress and I noticed she had

very beautiful, expressive eyes. She was very friendly and I was very happy that she accepted to be

photographed for the blog. Thank you Lilia! <3

After I had photographed Lilia, I came across a beautiful couple that I am sure many of you will

recognize. This is Kit (kit.boyd) and John Garrison (galenrovere), well-known Second Life

photographers and the sweetest and friendliest people you'll have the pleasure of running into.

I have known them both for years now from Flickr but I believe this is the first time I have actually

seen them inworld, so you can just imagine my joy. I couldn't stop smiling and I'll tell you a little

secret, I was also very nervous but very, very happy. <3

- The Cowardly Lion Sings About Courage -

This 1939, beautiful American musical, starring Judy Garland (Main Character), Frank Morgan (The

Wizard of Oz), Ray Bolger (Scarecrow), Bert Lahr (The Lion), Jack Haley (Tin Man), and Billie Burke

(The Good Witch) is one of the greatest films of all time, and most seen in movie history. Nominated for

six Academy Awards including Best Picture, and winning for Best Original Song for "Over The Rainbow".

There are four lessons to be learned from this beautiful film. But for me, the main lesson is to be

grateful for what we have. Many times we do not realize all the beautiful things that are in our lives.

We tend to go in search of things that we really do not need thinking we do when in reality, anything

we can possibly need is already there, in front of us. Doherty feeling discontent with her life, embarks

on a dream that teaches her this important lesson when she realizes that what she was searching for, 

was already home. The other three lessons we learn are from the Scarecrow, who wants a brain,

The Tin Man, who is in search of a heart, and finally, the Cowardly Lion who wants courage.

While I love all the main characters, the Cowardly Lion is my favorite one for his witty role.

Lions are perceived as these brave and dangerous beasts-kings of the jungle however our Cowardly Lion

is even afraid of his own tail. He is the one to run and hide at the slightest sign of danger forcing

his companions to constantly encourage him to keep going. Though he seems to lack courage, without

realizing it, he still manages to find it to help his friends during their journey.

Courage had always been in him, what he was actually lacking was the confidence to boost his

self-esteem. After he got that confidence he felt full of courage.

This applies to many aspects of our lives, not just courage or brain or a heart.

Without confidence, our lives are limited to the endless possibilities that we have.

Cowardness/fear are the "doors closed" the "dead-ends" of life, the anchors that weigh us down.

How many times have we stopped ourselves from taking that extra step in fear of failing?

How many times have we remained silent in fear of getting a no or getting rejected?

How many times have we been standing just looking at the other side of the road and afraid to cross it?

Courage is trying even when we are afraid of failing and if we do fail, courage is knowing how

to accept defeat and to try again. Sometimes courage is accepting failure not as a failure but as

a new chance to go in a different direction that might be even better in the end.

We are born with courage running through our veins, sometimes all we just need is encouragement

from ourselves to realize this and boost our self-esteem.

Fear, fear itself, and when you are confronted with it, look it in the eyes and say, "GAME ON!"

The Naughty Kitty List

Hello Beautiful World!

Today's short story is courtesy of Pollito, my boy kitty.

Earlier today as I was walking back to my bedroom from the kitchen I saw Pollito asleep on one of the

chairs. I stopped by to give him some love and began to praise his very good behavior...

"Who's the most beautiful kitty in all the block?

What am I saying, in the whole neighborhood... who is it, who is it?

IT'S MY POLLITOOOOO.

He's so good that Santa Clause for sure is gonna stop at this house just for him...

Yes he is!

He's such a good kitty, yes he is!..."

And so I went on for a good while giving my Pollito a lot of love.

Finally, when I was done and begin to walk away, Pollito jumped off the chair and walked by my side.

As we continued walking side by side I kept telling him what a good kitty he is and how proud

I am of him when suddenly he let out a LOUD meow, like an upset meow, and began to attack my feet.

I tried getting away but he chased me all the way to my room while he kept jumping me all mad.

Finally, I made it to my room and had to shake him off my leg because he wouldn't let go.

I closed the door and then he began to meow all sweet. But he wasn't fooling me,

he just wanted to trick me into opening the door so he could jump me again.

Bad, bad kitty,

who attacks when he's being complimented!

I told him through the door to never mind, that his "Pollito" name was now on Santa's bad list

and no gifts for him this year. While I was telling him all this he would keep answering me in very

sweet meows. Yeah right! >:(

The funny thing though, is that he didn't hurt me at all, not a single scratch. He just kept jumping and

bouncing on me as I was walking and holding onto my shoes forcing me to drag him on the floor

like an old rag. At some points, he got to jump on me and hold on to my leg and then would begin to

slowly slide down like melted butter until he would reach the floor, and then he would do it again.

Omg, it was just so funny, the whole thing.

I'm not sure what really upset him in the first place since everything I was saying was good things about

him and I didn't step on his tail at all or hurt him. Weird kitty.

End of story.
