From one to ten happy, I am on a one million now that my Steppenwolf is back from his vacation.

I wish I could spend every minute of the day with him for at least a week to make up for lost time,

but I understand that my man has to work.... grrr, see, I understand. >:(

Tonight for our first date out he took me to the SL FANDOM CON'24 (Fandom Regions)

Event Description

SL Fandom Con, a mega event for Relay For Life, offers a comic-like virtual convention

with five themed regions dedicated to shopping, role play, entertainment, and various fun activities.

Running from August 2nd through 11th, this event is a vibrant celebration of many fandom

Our night began by exploring the event's grounds. The funny thing though, is that after all the years

Steppenwolf and I have been together, we still don't know how to explore like a couple, we say go,

and each takes an opposite direction and we don't even realize it til we run into each other again

far far away from where we started. Tonight of course was no exception. Of course, there are points

where we accidentally reunite and get to explore for a bit together before we both again wander off in

different directions.

Luckily for the both of us, while exploring together we came into a huge arena where we had the

pleasure of meeting Mr. Mud, Mud (bespokecaravan).

Lori Novo: Hi Mud, are you a potato?

It has the event's logo. A beautiful piece to keep as a memorabilia.

Soon after, Mr. Mud joined us. Not in the first thing we love to do the best because my Steppenwolf

and I are not into that and I am sure Mr. Mud isn't either.

Hello Beautiful World!

I sometimes tend to leave Kansas to then return with my tail between my legs like a little lost puppy.

This usually happens when I think the grass might be greener on the other side and so I run to it,

like a moth drawn to light. Sometimes it takes me a while to realize that the grass is fake, yes, shiny

and pretty, but not real. Then, I look back to my own grass and realize that "oops" my yard has the best grass

in the neighborhood. And I run back feeling very proud of my grass and I water it and watch it

grow, and grow, and grow, until very early one morning I am awakened by Steppenwolf's lawnmower

mowing my beautiful grass. Then I'm thinking, "Oh man, but it looked so pretty. >:("

But you know those neighborhood regulations where you have to keep the grass clean-cut as if it is

serving some military duty. If it was up to me I would let it grow and grow till it was as high as the

trees, then I could play there hide-n-seek with my Steppenwolf. Can you imagine how much fun that would be?

Now, I am aware that by now you all are wondering what am I talking about, "Is she ok?

She's not making any sense." I know this is just nonsense talk that at the moment I am thinking is damn

good writing, but trust me, in a day or two I'll be laughing too. So this is really for my own

amusement to save for a rainy day when I find myself in need of a good laugh. :P

Anyways, when I say that sometimes I think the grass might be greener on the other side I am not

referring to anything in particular. It is just a metaphor for Doherty's quote about Kansas.

In the film The Wizard of Oz, Kansas represents "home" for Doherty. Kansas also represents

our normal surroundings and what we are used to. When we find ourselves no longer in Kansas

it means we have stepped out into the unknown, usually into strange or/and uncomfortable situations.

Toto, I have a feeling we are at the ENCHANTMENT EVENT.

Indeed, today I wore my new beautiful Oz Doherty Full Outfit by irrISIStible

and embarked down the yellow brick road on an excitable journey full of color and wonder.

This quarterly shopping event has to be one of the most loved events in Second Life based on all that is

magical and fairy tales. This time, it opened with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Round (& Other Oz Tales),

based on the 1939, American musical film, starring Judy Garland.

Embark on a whimsical journey down the yellow brick road at our enchanting Wizard of Oz Shopping

Event and Hunt. Explore a bountiful emporium filled with treasures inspired by the Emerald City, from

sparkling silver slippers to whimsical magical wands. Get lost in a kaleidoscope of colors, where every

item holds a hint of Oz’s extraordinary charm!

I absolutely LOVE my new Doherty outfit by irriSIStible that you can get at the event

together with all the other characters from the film who come in complete outfits with everything you will need

from skins, hair, accessories, shoes, etc.

Doherty Outfit includes dress, stockings, hat, basket with Toto in it, and my favorite item

the sparkling red shoes.

Now the highlights of today's visit to the event.

First, when I ran into Lilia Levitsky dressed also as Doherty, it made me very happy to see that I wasn't

the only one at the event in a costume. She looked beautiful in her Doherty dress and I noticed she had

very beautiful, expressive eyes. She was very friendly and I was very happy that she accepted to be

photographed for the blog. Thank you Lilia! <3

After I had photographed Lilia, I came across a beautiful couple that I am sure many of you will

recognize. This is Kit (kit.boyd) and John Garrison (galenrovere), well-known Second Life

photographers and the sweetest and friendliest people you'll have the pleasure of running into.

I have known them both for years now from Flickr but I believe this is the first time I have actually

seen them inworld, so you can just imagine my joy. I couldn't stop smiling and I'll tell you a little

secret, I was also very nervous but very, very happy. <3

This is Vivi, one of my two best friends.

Here we are at my home resting after an exciting girl's day out shopping.

Vivi and I could easily be called sisters because of how close we are.

But I've been there and done that in the past and to be honest with you, the SL sisters and brothers thing

just doesn't work for me. I am not going down that path again and Vivi feels the same way I do.

We are great best friends, and we are keeping it that way!

She is very special to me together with my Steppenwolf.

This beautiful song by Taylor Swift was shared with me this morning by my daughter 

who warned me not to cry when I listened to it. I still cried.

The lyrics are sad and reminded me of my mother who passed away six years ago.

So this is for you, my beautiful mother.

So earlier today, Vivi and I got together to go to the HAIR FAIR 2023 (General),

which will be running from June 17th - July 2nd with 6 regions of hair, hair accessories, and

poses/props and donating a percentage of every sale to Wigs For Kids,

truly a very noble cause. This is the main reason this is my favorite event in Second Life.

The other reason is that hair has been my #1 weakness since day one.

Some designers have also included free gifts for us and even better, some are donating up to 50%

and even 100% of their sales to this organization. Bravo to them!

Vivi and I had so much fun being silly and trying hair just to see who would wear it better.

Of course, she won every time. What can I say, she is absolutely beautiful. A real stunner that even if

she wore a mop on her head she would still be looking good. OMG, I hate her so much!! <3

In the picture below we are wearing a 1L hair by Loveholic which includes the hair, hair wisps,

bloody ears, bloody horns, and a halo. This 1L price is only for the duration of the event.

Wigs For Kids is a wonderful organization for children and young adults dealing with hair loss.

It provides recipients at no cost, hair pieces made from donated hair. In the past, I was fortunate enough 

to donate my hair on several occasions. It fills you with such great joy knowing

that your hair will be putting a smile on a child's face. ;)

Today I begin my morning and the week bringing to you an event that I love.

This is SUMMERFEST '23 (Adult).

Running from June 17 - July 9 and sponsored by floorplan, friday, and ELIKATIRA.

I have been covering this great event almost every year since 2016. However, this is the very first time

that I took pictures of the event's grounds. It has been set easy to navigate, with three levels,

including the landing point, and all the stores are in alphabetical order this year. 

The event always has many of my favorite designers/stores participating and I can always find great

items that I fall in love with. This year was no exception. I could make a list of my wishlist but why not

show you instead? ;)

This year, my favorite #1 item from the event was the Perlita Lavenderfield flowers by anc.

It comes in a variety of beautiful colors, sold separately. My favorite ones were the white ones

Designer aki60 never fails to awe me with all his beautiful designs, always so magical.

I can always tell his creations when I am out exploring before I even check out who's the designer.

They are definitely unique. aki60 is also the owner of one of my favorite Second Life places,

This beautiful So'L'Estate and Decor by 8f8 places 4th for me.

I absolutely loved it and the only reason it didn't place a higher place is because I like building my

own homes. However, I loved it so much that I am considering buying it.

Designer iBi not only creates some of the best items in Second Life but he has one of the most beautiful

sims, Black Kite. While some go for shopping purposes, others go just to enjoy the land.

In 5th place I have the Moi Bree Lifeguard Chair by Chez Moi.

I really need one for our beach to keep an eye on Steppenwolf for when he goes skinnydipping

(wink wink). The chair is available also in the Adult version. I can't imagine how much two

people can perform while on it without falling over. I think I'll just have to buy it and see for myself. :P

Designer nanda Marjeta has been creating everything you need from home and garden decor to

cute homes since 2012. Her group has been set at 200L to join which will save you from 15% to

50% off any purchases you make excluding Gift Cards and gacha items. There are over ten group gifts

to collect and new monthly gifts to come and surprise giveaways for group members.

So there you have it, my top five favorites from this event.
