A Day to Remember

NEVER FORGET 9.11.01

Though the sun is shining so bright on this 11th day of September,
a sad cloud overcomes the brightness and turns the light into a gray feeling of loss
and sadness. It seems that it was just yesterday when many of our brothers and sisters
perished so senselessly in the 9/11 attacks. Ten years later, the horrifying images of
destruction are still very well alive in our hearts and minds.

Today my heart feels too heavy. I am glad to have found a special place in Second Life
to go to (September 11 Memorial Route 66) and spend some moments of remembrance.
I get chills and I shed a tear with every name that is called out of the people that perished
on that day.....there are so many. The list goes on and on, and it seems not to have an end.

MissMissy Moonbeam and Nardo Andrew welcome everyone that arrives.
They so lovingly had put together this beautiful memorial site for us to go and spend
some special time.

MissMissy Moonbeam: Hi Lori :-)
Lori Novo: Did you and Nardo put up this beautiful 9-11 memorial?
MissMissy Moonbeam: Yes we did. Just wanted to honor the day in a small way.
Lori Novo: It is beautiful, TY :)
MissMissy Moonbeam: Kind words :-)

My tears keep falling and my sadness keeps deepening.
Suddenly the kindness of a caring human being brings hope into my heart.
Oh, how beautiful it is when people that share the same sadness find the strength
 to help the weaker.

Reene CyradoAll right with you? My english is bad.
Lori Novo: yes, I am OK thank you, just praying :)
Reene Cyrado: ok, god bless you
Lori Novo: God bless you too :)

and the names of those who perished keep going on...

I see people that come and pray (Sharon Akula). The ground keeps getting wet
with the tears of those that have come to pay their respects.

Some sit still, not daring to move an inch. They are lost in the memories of that day.
We all remember what we were doing at the moment it all happened.
The feeling of terror and hopelessness was so overwhelming. Otis Hudson
has said he wants to stay here all day to remember.

The names of the perished keep going on...

Bunny Firebrand carries over her head the name of a loved one that left
to be with our Lord that day. She stays there for a long time,
on her knees... remembering...crying....honoring!

Kuro Okami (Lucy) joins me for a few moments.
We sit in silence while the names keep being called out.

DJ Starrlicious changes the name she carries on her head often...
so many to remember.... so many to honor...
so heavy her sadness. She drops to the floor almost lifeless and she closes her eyes...
and the names keep changing.

Pictures, candles, and flowers are placed at the memorial site to pay tribute
to our loved ones that were taken away from us.  Let us not forget that not only
many lives were lost on the twin towers but at the Pentagon and a field in
Pennsylvania as well.

Many firefighters gave their lives saving others... TRUE HEROES!

Still, the consequences of that day linger and end lives. Many of the people that
volunteered after the attack are suffering from diseases from inhaling all the smoke,
the dust and the toxic. Many have passed away due to this. Let us also keep in mind the
many lives that have been lost after that day due to the war in the fight to end terrorism.

The names keep coming... the list never ends.
New names can be added every day since that day... the fatalities keep rising.

Never forget 9.11.01

My prayers to all those who passed away and to their families. All my love to you.
