Dear Second Life, I remember each year how I couldn't wait to start decorating our home for the holidays. So right after Thanksgiving dinner, I would bring into the living room everything to start putting up our Christmas tree. Most of my Christmas ornaments, I started buying since I was a teenager. Every year, I would look for the perfect one that had a heartfelt meaning for me. and after I had my kids, I continued with that tradition of buying a new special ornament for each one of us. The wonderful thing about our ornament is not that they are just pretty, but each has a special story behind it. A memory that pops up every time we unwrap them from the bubble-plastic they have been protected with. Some memories make us laugh, others however are bittersweet because they remind us of someone that is now celebrating Christmas in Heaven. There are other ornaments that were given to me as gifts by friends and family. I actually loved receiving an ornament to adorn my Christmas tree rather than any other gift because I knew that they would be part of my every Christmas for the rest of my life. Yet, the best ornaments and most beautiful ones are those my son and daughter made every year at school for me. Just to think of their little hands all sticky and covered in glitter creating such beautiful pieces, makes me want to shed a happy tear. Our Christmas trees are not adorned with fancy blinking lights and shiny ornaments. Our Christmas trees are adorned with beautiful memories and love. Forever Yours, ~ Lori Novo~ ❤ |

Who doesn't love Gatchas? My SL sister Valki is an addict of them. When she gets the gatcha fever there is no stopping her. The good thing about her little gatcha problem is that I usually end up getting everything she has won double. I see no intervention needed here, do you? ;) I know for a fact that as soon as she sees this post she'll fly to {mary cakes} and play the Candy Cane Gatcha (Nov. 25 - Dec. 25) that is waiting for her. "Valkiiii, come and play with meee" I can almost hear it calling out to her. |
