Today I decided to go in a different direction with my photos. The dark Lori Novo
surfaced as soon as I put my "Kosh- To Much Stress Makeup" on. Don't worry,
I am still the same under these harsh exterior <3 After seeing the new look I adopted
for the night, ReQuiEm came into mind as the perfect location to take these
photos. ReQuiEm specializes in dark clothes, vampire, and Gothic.
Their basement is incredibly creepy and secluded and it was the perfect spot for this photoshoot.
While listening to what sounded like Marilyn Manson
and almost going crazy with the music, a favorite song of mine came into mind,
"Put Your Lights On". I have always said I like ALL music, however,
after listening to Heavy Metal last night, I stand corrected,
this is definitely not the music for me.
By the way,
If you ever visit ReQuiEms basement, be prepared for a great experience since
once you go down the only way out is by finding the hidden doors throughout
the dark and eerie hallways.
"Put Your Lights On", written by Everlast was a song featured
in Santana's Supernatural album back in 2000 and got them a Grammy Award
for best rock performance by a duo that same year. There is a guitar solo
in this song which I usually like to listen to with my eyes closed. I do this
so I can fully enjoy the powerful guitar performance
by these two extraordinary performers.
Everlast referred to this song as one of the most personal songs he ever wrote
"kind of all about hope, but coming from a really dark place."
