SLEEPING BEAUTY... Written by Valkiria Fox

Featuring
THE ENCHANTMENT EVENT

This time the ENCHANTMENT event has as a theme Sleeping Beauty ^_^
Many changes were made: Instead of going to a Sim where you can find all the items, you will have to
go to all the stores that are participating in the event. And they had a genial idea: for each item (made
for the ENCHANTMENT event) that you buy in the stores you will receive a Stamp Card (that comes
inside the item box). So after you buy all the products you liked, you may add all the Stamp Cards to
your body and make a new journey from the first shop until the last, and click on the Enchantment
Stamp Booth, so you can add a stamp to all your cards. Each store will give you a different stamp. After
the last store, you should go to the PRIZE LOCATION, where you can exchange each complete Stamp
Card for an exclusive item. But there, add only 1 card to your body and only after you take your first
prize you should add a second card, and take a second prize, and so on.

The Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite fairy tales, and like many others, its original version was
more about a horror tale for adults. The very first story was made by Basile in 1634. In that version,
Sleeping Beauty was called Talia and after her forever sleep she was found by a married king that was
passing by her castle. Seeing that she was in deep sleep the king raped her :o and she gave birth to
twins: Sole and Luna, which made her wake up from her sleep. Knowing about the birth of the children,
the king decided to come back to see Talia and so they fell in love. There is no dark fairy in this story
and the "bad" character is the jealous king's wife, that discovers all and tries to kill the children after
trying to kill Talia. But the king discovers and sends his wife to be burnt and so he marries Talia.
Creepy story!

Only after later versions were made by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm, did the story become
a fairy tale possible to be told to kids. During the many versions made, the princess' name changed a lot
of times, as well as the fairy's presence (and its number) and who the dark character was (a betrayed
wife, a queen stepmother, or a dark fairy). Only in the adaptation to the ballet by Tchaikovsky that the
princess won the name Aurora. And so Disney made its own animation version using pieces of
Tchaikovsky's ballet and of Charles Perrault's story and giving the dark fairy, Maleficent, her name.
