Hello beautiful world!
So finally after days, actually weeks of not feeling well, I decided to go to the doctor on Tuesday
and, unfortunately, I was diagnosed with diabetes.
I had been feeling so sick that I couldn't even get out of bed these last past days, feeling so dizzy
and weak. The ironic thing is that I have a phobia of needles. In the past I have literally fainted
a few times when I get a shot or had blood drawn from me, now, poking myself with needles
will be part of my life. It is not that I fear the pain, rarely do they hurt at all, however,
just the thought of knowing that a needle is being stuck on me, is enough to make me extremely nervous.
The news of me having this disease wasn't a surprise at all.
I had Gestational Diabetes during both my pregnancies but after giving birth it went away both times.
After that, I never cared to check myself again for this disease thinking I was in the clear for good.
However, my mother has suffered from diabetes for many years, so in the back of my mind,
I always knew I was prone to get it if I didn't take care of myself and many times
I showed symptoms of the disease. When the doctor gave me the news all I could think was,
"I knew it!"
Of course, I am saddened by this but I prefer to see it on the bright side.
This is my wake-up call to start taking better care of myself and not neglect my health
like I been doing lately. It is time to say goodbye to drinking cokes every day and eating so many
Milkyway chocolate bars.
I still haven't been able to normalize my sugar levels and still spend all day in bed
feeling like I am falling. Thankfully, today I woke up feeling a bit better and eager to blog a little.
I know that with faith and determination following the doctor's orders I'll be back as new in no time.
“Respect your body.
Eat well.
Dance forever.”
Before I go, I want to thank from the bottom of my heart all of you, my wonderful readers,
my dearest friend and family for all your get-well wishes.
For all your emails, eCards, and off-lines during this time.
This show of love and affection has meant so much to me and it will never be forgotten.
May God bless each and every one of you every day of your lives.
Thanks For Reading!
